THV11.com reported that a 22-year-old Missouri man is accused of deliberately trying to transmit HIV. After he was diagnosed with HIV, the accused engaged in sexual activity with more than 30 individuals. According to St. Charles County Prosecutor Tim Lohmar, videotapes taken over four months showed the accused engaged in sex acts with 31 unidentified individuals. Lohmar noted that most of the victims had no idea that the accused was HIV positive or that he was videotaping them. Since many of the videos were made in the accused’s dorm room when he was a university student, school officials have agreed to assist law enforcement with identifying victims. If convicted of knowingly transmitting HIV, the accused could receive a life sentence.
