New guidelines from the American College of Physicians, one of the largest physician organizations in the United States, recommend an even more expansive use of HIV testing than CDC guidelines revised in 2006.

From the Journals: Interview With David Holtgrave, Ph.D. (June 12, 2007) PLoS Medicine published a skeptical report, authored by Holtgrave, on the costs and consequences of the recommendation from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that routine opt-out HIV testing be offered in all health care settings for people 13 to 64 years of age.
