Learning Objectives

Purpose:

The purpose of this activity is to provide HIV physicians, nurses and other health care professionals with the opportunity to supplement their knowledge on issues related to the treatment of HIV-infected patients. This will be accomplished via a CME- and CE-accredited summary of highlighted research from the 47th Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC 2007).


Target Audience:

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of physicians, pharmacists, nurses and other health care professionals involved in the care of patients with HIV.


Objectives:

Participants who complete this educational activity should be able to:

  1. Review the latest data from, and expert opinion regarding, key studies presented at ICAAC 2007.
  2. Identify issues in HIV medicine that are particularly topical for HIV clinicians and researchers.
  3. Explain new developments in the clinical management of HIV-infected patients.
  4. Identify evolving strategies in the management of complications associated with HIV and antiretroviral therapy.
