The story also erroneously reported that in metropolitan Detroit, blacks represented 23 percent of the population but 87 percent of people living with HIV. According to the Department of Community Health, blacks make up 22 percent of the area's population and 68 percent of people there living with HIV.
Finally, the story erroneously identified the study as the AIDS CARE study. Rather, the study will appear in the AIDS CARE medical journal.
