The Body Covers:
The 1st International AIDS Society Conference on HIV Pathogenesis and Treatment
Buenos Aires, Argentina

July 8-11, 2001

The International AIDS Society has been coordinating the International AIDS Conferences every two years. Because science has been advancing so fast and such an overwhelming amount of progress has been seen, they have decided to add another conference in the years when the International AIDS conference is not held. This new event will be smaller and devoted to basic and clinical science. Scientists from around the world are expected to meet to present and discuss their data formatted in two tracks: basic science (co-chairs: David Ho, USA and Horacio Salomon, Argentina) and clinical science (co-chairs: Julio Montaner, Canada and Carlos Zala, Argentina).

Reporting exclusively for The Body are Calvin J. Cohen, M.D., M.S.; Andrew T. Pavia, M.D.; Douglas T. Dieterich, M.D.; Howard Grossman, M.D.; Brian A. Boyle, M.D., J.D.; Pablo Tebas, M.D.; Alvan Fisher, M.D.; and Robert J. Frascino, M.D. For more information on these outstanding doctors, click on their pictures or on their names.

Funding for this conference coverage at The Body is provided, in part, by unrestricted educational grants from Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, GlaxoSmithKline, and Ortho Biotech, Inc.
