A Review of Long-Acting HIV Treatment and Prevention

As we inch closer to an HIV cure, the next, big step is making long-acting antiretroviral therapy the norm and saying goodbye to one pill once a day. Long-acting antiretroviral drugs could be used for both treatment and prevention. Here is a review of the drugs that are currently being developed and researched, according to a presentation by Babafemi Taiwo, M.B.B.S., at IDWeek 2016 in New Orleans.
