On the day before the opening of CROI 2015, the U.S. Women and PrEP Working Group gathered to reflect on two years of successes and challenges with respect to research, programs and policies that encourage or impair access to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for transgender and non-transgender women.

Gretchen Weiss, M.P.H., senior program analyst for the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), made a strong case -- several cases, actually, through snapshots of local efforts -- for the essential role of local health departments in facilitating PrEP access for women.
