Blog AIDS 2014 Video Blog: A Farewell, and Final Thoughts on MelbourneAugust 4, 2014
But if you've been watching my video reports from Melbourne, you know there are other sights beyond the science that catch my eye. In this, my final report from AIDS 2014, I offer a review of some of the staggeringly inspiring people that make the conference such a privilege to attend. Speaking of privilege, I can't help but offer some final thoughts in this piece about the immensely privileged lives that most of us in the U.S. enjoy. I know it's something that should go without saying, but meeting people face-to-face who stand up to injustices in other countries that we can only imagine in ours certainly puts things into perspective. My trip would not have happened without the support of TheBodyPRO.com, for which I am truly grateful. Thanks also to Living Positive Victoria (an impressively engaged and active coalition of people living with HIV) and the people of Melbourne for showing the HIV/AIDS world such hospitality! Thanks for watching, my friends, and please be well.
