QUESTION:

I have a patient with two negative result of elisa fourth generation at day 41 and day 81. My question is this: Has he to make a new test? Thank you...


  

RESPONSE FROM:   

    I generally recommend waiting until 6 months before concluding that a persons is HIV negative following exposure. Indeed, our usual post-exposure testing occurs at 1,3 and 6 months.
