QUESTION:

Thanks for the answer about the crypto. The patient is feeling somewhat better and she is now seeing shadows. The only problem is that she has an infection in her PIC line which is complicating everything. She is not able to keep anything down so she has had no ARRT and it makes me nervous. I am hoping she will stabilize so I can get her into Broadway house which is a nursing home just for HIV. Most of the staff is giving up on her but she is only 33 and otherwise healthy. She doesn't get it and for whatever reason stopped her meds. Thanks

RESPONSE FROM:

    Thanks for the follow up.

Seems like the PICC line infection should only be a short term complication. I'd hope that as the meningitis improves, so will the nausea- so that she'll be able to resume her ART. The first big issue is stabilizing her and treating the crypto.

    Best of luck, BY
