I took the liberty to apply to you after my e-mail conversation with Mary Callaway. We have been collaboration with her since 2002 and she kindly permits me to write a letter to you.

I am a doctor from Russia (Nizhny Novgorod) who is working on palliative care (PC) organization for people living with HIV/AIDS in our region at the moment.

We are starting the program supported by the GLOBE on PC for HIV.

We are developing the model of the service and we need to make some analysis of the future epidemic prognosis in the region in order to convince our authorities to set up a hospice for AIDS patients and enlarge the existing clinical department in the hospital.

So we need to make a forecast for HIV epidemic in the region.

Unfortunately we have no any tool or specialist who can help us. We have been looking for help in other cities and applied for the FUTURES group by E-mail but we haven't got any answer.

Besides we have no literature on how to conduct this study.

I would be very much obliged to you if you could tell me the name or address of a specialist (organization) in the U.S. whom I can apply with my request - to make a forecast for HIV epidemic in the region according to our statistics).

I do know you are very busy. I am very sorry to have your time. But I do not how to solve this problem.

If you are planning to attend the Moscow Conference in September 2005 - it will be a great pleasure for me to meet you there.
