PGL

QUESTION:
Hello,
I had a needlestick injury roughly 1 year ago. I underwent PEP (using two meds, triple therapy in SA, where this occurred, was not std. practice) x 6mo. I have been tested x 6 months, and all tests have come back negative.
A mo. or so before my last test (5.5 months post injury) I found 4 submandibular (unilateral) LN. They are , mobile, non tender, 1.5-2cm in size. These LN's have not gone down in size, and now, over 1 year from the injury, they are still present. I know the only way to know for sure, is to be tested, but does this sound like PGL to you? Would it even make sense for one to have PGL before serology comes back positive?
Thanks.

RESPONSE FROM:
While your lymph nodes are of some concern, unilateral lymph node enlargment, is not, by definition, generalized.
You're right, the only way to know is to do simple HIV testing. Save yourself some angst and (1) get tested and (2) have your doctor evaluate your lymph nodes. BY
