fatigue

QUESTION:
I am a patient living with HIV and I have found treatment to be very stressful, and excessive fatigue. Lab work is all negative, what can I do to continue? CD4 400 VL 500, meds are truvada/lexeva, dr dcd the norvir???

RESPONSE FROM: 
If the fatigue began soon after you started treatment, then I too would suspect the meds. One way to find out is to talk to your doctor about a very brief drug holiday. If after 4 weeks you are no better, I would suspect something other than the meds and then restart.
Before all that it is important to make sure there is no underlying cause of your fatigue. Thyroid dysfunction, anemia, depression and other causes mus be ruled out.
