atazanavir

QUESTION:

Hi I just want to know if there is any clinical data about the use of atazanavir divided BID, or if there is certenty that it works much better as a single dose per day...of course in combination with low dose of norvir. Thank you very much

    Thanks for your post.

    While there may be some early pharmacokinetic data on the use of atazanavir twice daily, I could see little advantage to this-- the drug works very well dosed once- or twice-daily, with or without ritonavir. It's always my preference to use ataznavir with ritonavir.
